Fox AX Suspension Fork
Suspension specialists Fox shocked everyone when it released a 40mm travel suspension fork designed for adventure and gravel bikes earlier this year.
Reilly Gradient
South Coast-based Reilly Cycleworks has produced the Gradient as a do-everything adventure and gravel bike, with a lovingly finished titanium frame and smart specification in this £2,399 complete bike. It provides a ride that is as lovely as the bike is to look at, with space for wide tyres for heading off into the wilderness or adding dirt and gravel roads to your route, and a high level of refinement.
Stans No Tubes Race Sealant
Stan's NoTubes Race Sealant seals bigger punctures much more quickly than the regular Stan's sealant. The improved performance does come with a high price tag, but I think it's a price worth paying for the reduced risk of flatting.
Nukeproof Horizon CS Clipless Pedal
Nukeproof’s Horizon CS pedal is a solid and reliable clipless pedal providing more support than a lollipop cross-country pedal and is available in a range of fetching colours to complement your bike. It’s compatible with Shimano SPD cleats if you’re already familiar with, or using that system already, so switching is easy. If these are your first clipless pedals, they are easy to use and have a very shallow learning curve.
HT T1 clipless pedal
HT’s T1 clipless pedal is aimed at the trail and enduro rider and provides easy engagement with a positive action, and they come in a wide choice of colours and there’s a lighter titanium spindle version if you’re feeling flush. The chromoly version here is lighter than Shimano’s XT Trail pedal, but they are more expensive even at discounted prices.
Specialized S-Works Diverge
A redesigned frame with space for 42mm tyres, disc brakes, 1x11 Shimano Di2 gearing, Future Shock suspension and a dropper seatpost signal a lot of changes for Specialized's Diverge, but they add up to create one of the best adventure bikes I've ridden. It's a sophisticated ride with buckets of capability for going fast and tackling big journeys over varied and challenging terrain.
New brand Fearless Bikes debuts Vulture adventure bike
News reaches us all the way from Brighton of a new cycling brand called Fearless Bikes and its debut model the Vulture, a steel-framed adventure/all-road frameset that aims to combine the best of cyclocross and adventure bikes.
HT 878 Clipless Pedal
The compact 878 clipless pedal from pedal specialists HT is a good option for gravel enthusiasts and cross-country mountain bikers, with low weight, easy functionality and decent durability its best hallmarks.
Bombtrack Hook EXT-C review
Bombtrack is a young brand that has quietly been making waves recently with really interesting looking road and adventure bikes, and this all-new carbon fibre 650b Hook EXT-C is a highly capable, comfortable and great handling adventure bike if you really want to delve deep into the woods and escape the congested roads and plan an ambitious adventure into the unknown wilderness.
