RockShox updates the Reverb AXS dropper post with a whopping 250mm of travel

RockShox quickly became a big player in the wireless market with its Reverb AXS using technology from SRAM's Eagle AXS drivetrains. Bringing a serious update to the beloved wireless dropper, the very latest Reverb AXS now boasts up to 250mm of travel with a focus on easy maintenance. Seen on plenty of Cape Epic pro bikes, this new dropper is RockShox's worst-kept secret.

As with drivetrains, wireless dropper posts bring some sizeable benefits over their cabled counterparts. Namely, the ease of installation and simpler maintenance. However, as RockShox's new Reverb AXS is designed to integrate into the AXS ecosystem and the latest Transmission AXS drivetrains, the brand says that it brings a host of customisation into the mix.
Through the AXS app, RockShox and SRAM open up the opportunity to assign the dropper's remote to any button on a Pod shifter, allowing the rider to place their controls however they wish over one or two wireless shifters.
Perhaps the biggest benefit the new dropper brings is the serious range of travel. Starting at 100mm and going up to a huge 250mm, the Reverb AXS provides everything in between in 25mm increments.
The dropper uses an 'air-over-air' design that RockShox claims is easy to maintain and mega durable. The most noticeable new feature on this post is that the battery location has been moved, which not only boosts clearance around the battery but also means the whole module can be removed without any special tools. The brand states that the Reverb AXS has been designed with long service intervals in mind, recommending relubrication every 300 hours of ride time. Additionally, there's a suite of replacement parts available.
Thanks to that air-over-air design, the Reverb AXS provides RockShox's ActiveRide technology. First found on the brand's XPLR dropper posts, ActiveRide is a built-in compliance system activated when the post is compressed slightly from full extension. The result is a touch of squish built into the dropper that's said to bring more traction over technical and steep climbs.
The RockShox Reverb AXS is available in 30.9-, 31.6-, and 34.9mm diameters, ranges from 337.2- up to 587.2mm in total length, it can accommodate round and oval saddle rails, and it'll set you back £535.
