2018 Specialized Enduro Revealed
Longer reach, flip-chip and 'WU' dropper....

Specialized have overhauled their much loved Enduro once again. After last year's changes which saw the brand bestow the long travel bike with geometry much more in line with its competitors, the brand has now tweaked the 2018 Enduro to offer a longer reach and a flip chip in the shock yoke to lower the BB and slacken the head angle.
Let get down to details right away, here's what has changed:
- Longer reach across all frame sizes, check out the geometry chart below. Spesh say that during this regeneration of the bike they have worked on closing the gap of the geometry differences between the 29/6Fattier version and the 650B bike.
- Specialized have also introduced a flip chip in the shock yoke to lower the bottom bracket and slacken the head angle by 8mm across the range. Specialized have negated to mention that in the low position this flip chip will likely slacken the seat tube angle but we think it will....... Previously on 2017 models the seat angle of the Enduro for both 650B and 29/6 Fattie bike sit between 75 and 76.5 size dependent. This new part will be available to retro fit to 2017 models.
- The front shock bolt has been moved on the 650B Enduro to enable a more progressive spring rate.
- There are some specification changes - the S-Works models now come with Öhlins TTX Boost forks and the Pro/Elite models will have Öhlins StX Boost forks.
- New Specialized WU Command post in place on S-Works, Pro and Coil models. The new WU post is a dropper seat post with 150mm of travel where Specialized have combined 115mm of drop with a feature that adjusts the angle of the seat to give the last 35mm of travel. It's best described in pictures, see below.
The new WU Command post tils by 14 degrees as it reaches the bottom of its travel creating a saddle position more akin to DH bikes, aiming to get the saddle further out of the way for descending. Apparently 'WU' is slang in DH for when a saddle has its nose pointed up significantly - did anyone else know that?
- There will be 2.6" Butcher tyres on all 650B models
- SWAT CC tool will feature on S-Works, Pro and Coil models, it's a tool that slots into your steerer tube and contains all the tools that are currently in the current SWAT tool.
