Pivot has launched two new and more affordable models to its all-carbon Shuttle e-MTB range. The bike has also seen a slight bump in front wheel travel to 160mm along with a move to short offset forks and 29" wheels.
Not a huge amount has changed from the old Shuttle e-MTB, which, while well received, was rather expensive. In fact, the two new models are built with the exact same full carbon frame that delivers 155mm of DW-Link travel but use more affordable mechanically shifting drivetrains from Shimano rather than Di2.
The Fox 36 forks fitted to all the bikes now come in 160mm travel with a shorter offset and both also use the stiffer, e-bike specific chassis. Out back, the shock is also provided by Fox in the form of their Float DPX2.
The Race model (£6,999) comes with a 1x11 XT build, Shimano MT520 four-piston brakes and features Shimano’s entry-level STEPS E7000 drive unit. This is combined with a Fox Performance-level fork and shock.
Stepping up in price to £9,099 will get you the Team model with a mechanical 1x12 XTR drivetrain, XT M8020 4-piston brakes, and a Fox Factory level fork and shock. The price hike isn’t just caused by the groupset as you also get the slightly more compact and torquier STEPS E8000 motor.
Wheels come from DT Swiss with the EB 1535 on the Team model and the EB 1935 on the Race. Both are 29er rims with a 30mm wide and both come shod with Maxxis Minion tyres with a 2.5” for the front and 2.4” on the back.
Moving up prices also upgrades you from the 750mm aluminium Phoenix Race Low Rise to the 760mm carbon Phoenix Team Low Rise bars. Both bikes stick with the same 45mm own-brand stem.
