The Decoy SN 29 joins YT Industries' Super Natural family

With the introduction of the Decoy SN MX, YT Industries pointed its e-mountain bike lineup in a new, sleeker direction – the Decoy SN 29. Today, the brand has expanded on that lineup by taking that Super Natural brief and applying it to a trail-friendly e-MTB that boasts all of Fazua's very latest updates. Let's get into the details.

Built for aggressive trail and all-mountain, the new Decoy SN 29 lives up to its namesake as it dons a pair of 29-inch wheels. Additionally, to make it sit better within its all-around trail category, it gets 140mm of suspension at the rear paired with 160mm up front.
Much like its enduro-focused range mate, the Decoy SN 29 is driven thanks to Fazua's Ride 60 drive system. It gets all of Fazua's recent updates too, including the new remote control, a Nitro mode that unleashes 450W of power at the press of a button, and a new 480Wh battery that boosts power capacity by 10% compared to the 430Wh unit of old. That is, however, without affecting the bike's and the motor systems' overall weight. As usual, that motor knocks out 55Nm of torque.
Of course, a trail bike demands a different geometry than what an enduro bike might, so despite using a near-identical frame to the Decoy MX SN, the Decoy SN 29 gets a longer chainstay and a steeper seat tube, all in the name of versatility and support. To put that into numbers, there's a 447mm chainstay, a 78.6-degree seat tube angle (the steepest seen on a YT bike, might I add), and there's a 64.4-degree head tube angle. As for reach, a large frame, for example, gets a 477mm measurement.
That is all adjustable through a flip-chip at the shock yoke, which slackens those angles a little further while dropping the BB height.
As we're on the subject of frame features, it's all modern stuff. There's guided internal cable routing, an accessory mount under the top tube and space in the front triangle for a bottle. There's custom frame protection and improved cable entry ports.
The brand has also paid attention to the V4L suspension platform. YT Industries is offering the Decoy SN 29 in three builds, with prices starting at £6,500 and going up to £9,000. Each build gets an ultra-modulus carbon fibre frame and Hayes Dominion A4 brakes. Expect Fox suspension across the range with a Shimano SLX/XT drivetrain on the base model and SRAM T-Type shifting elsewhere.
As an entry into the lightweight e-MTB market, the Decoy SN 29 Core 4 is claimed to weigh as little as 19.2kg in the small frame size.
